You would have thought I had won the lottery. The next morning I had almost forgotten about the feeder until I looked up from pouring my coffee and saw a bird out there. Not really expecting Hummingbirds that quickly, but who knew.
We recently inherited a feeder at work and all the cute little birds with it. Set up was easy and instead of using a premixed solution I used the same recipe we were using at work, that I was told had been working for 10 years. I'm a newbie when it comes to Hummingbirds.
(1/3 sugar, 2/3 water) I actually sat and watched the feeder for about the first 10 minutes it was up. Now I don't know if it was the bird feeder, the food, maybe a nearby feeder I wasn't aware of or just plain LUCK, but because they did appear I have to give this feeder 5 stars. I became such a fan I decided to try one out at home.
Not wanting to invest too much right away because I had been told that it could be difficult to attract them this time of year, I bought this feeder on sale.
They seem to really enjoy it and it's indeed a joy to watch The hummingbird feeder is perfect.This one had the little perch by each of the feeding spots which many do not. I think the little guys like to rest their tiny wings.
Sitting in your air conditioned porch and watching birds of all distinction taste the syrupy flavor that comes out of the spout will make anyone go wild, unless you are blind. This double set, humming bird acquifier and ant feeder is a wonderful addition to any senior citizen's home.

Since putting it out, the hummingbirds just aren't real thrilled with it. I have to shake it lightly to get the air bubbles out of the base.
I don't know if this is an uncomfortable position for them or if it has anything to do with why they don't come to this one and fight over the others. I've noticed that they have to lean over and down to reach the flower.
I purchased this feeder in the winter. I can't put a finger on it, what they don't like about it.
I still have hope that it will become one of their favorites, but at this point have my doubts. I thought it was a nice design and a good choice for my collection of feeders.
I'm refilling the other feeders every other day and this one I have to dump out the water because it has gone stale.
